Born in 1290, as evidenced by ancient writings from the Campania region of Italy, this Chimera was immediately torn from its mother and persecuted until it vanished into legend. It is remembered now only through a star—singularly brilliant—that rises to the northeast, toward the sea. The creature and its celestial twin symbolize good fortune and an eternal love for the "other," the different, the unique.
